Alphabet Project

This was one of my favorite projects that we had to do this semester. We had to create our own alphabet, each letter had to be different and recognizable. Once we created those we needs to create a way to display each letter and the write our name using the letters. We could use any medium. But, our full alphabet had to be smaller, 6x4, instead of 18x24. Our name could be on an 18x24, but most did not. Most, including myself, created a collage of our names.

Project: Create our own alphabet. A way to display each letter and our FULL name.

Pre-project:

I loved working on these during class because I just doodled! It was very easy but once I started getting down to about ten left- I was running out of ammo. There was so many letters to do! (26 in fact) ;)

For my display of all the letters, I made it into a book. I thought that that would be the best and most fun way for me, being as I want to be an elementary teacher.

For the collage of my name I just pencil and colored pencil to create them. I then glued them into a crossword puzzle of my name. Shown below: (Bailey is the top across one, Nichole is the horizontal and Phares is the last across one.)

I decided that it looked too plain so I brought out three 18x24 sheets and glued them together to fit  behind my collage

Then I had to figure out how I would decorate it. And I never did anything so crazy, so I got out my paints and went to town! I splattered, finger painted, hand printed, made designs, patterns and had a bunch of fun doing it!

I glued my colossal name to the back and loved it. I took a picture for this blog and when I saw it, I could tell the difference between my name and the background.. :(

SO! I made a black painted outline of my name and it really stood now now!

I had a bunch of fun with this one!
